Gellux or Gelish?

Hi I am new to this, been doing nails a couple of months now and have invested in gellux & an led lamp (nail star) I have had a few were the tip or the side of the nails are chipping , any tips ?? Also I am finding gellux a nightmare to take off , took me an hour to take off tonight ? It's knocking my confidence now but reading posts on here a few people have this problem?
