Mobile hairdressing and colouring

Just a quick question, if you are mobile and have a new client that wants a tint or a old client that has gone away and come back after a while how do you go about getting the correct colour that they want, do you send pictures or get them to send pictures, for most of my clients I get the colour when I do a skin test but for the older clients I am just wondering
