Salon name?

Hi all, looking advice for a salon name..
I work in the hair industry and plan to open my own salon soon.
I would prefer a name without my own name in it and something thats a bit edgy, different not the normal yno.. i plan to have a nice dark wooden etchy style of a salon with a white walls and random pops of colour..
Any ideas?? Thanks in advance

Lash lift - left with hard eyelashes

hi, I just had a lash lift today at 1pm, and I am left with some sort of residue from it, it's hard and crispy in some places. I was told not to get them wet for 24 hours. Will this come off when I have a shower? Thanks

Hi guys,
I'm working on building up my client base as a freelancer, I've been using nxt as it's very cost effective while I am trying to build my brand, however I'm not thrilled with the depth of the colours, and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what are the best cost effective brands to use? Also, if anyone can recommend any vegan/cruelty free brands (regardless of cost) that would be extremely helpful.

Platinum help with Olaplex!

so we've recently gotten Olaplex at our salon and in just under two weeks, I've decided to take the plunge and go platinum! In our salon, we've never attempted something this drastic... I'm currently a natural level 2-3. We use goldwell, I was thinking a triple process,Malibu c crystal gel before I go to work, platinum card 6% back, and 9% front, after the length has developed, apply 6% to roots, on the last process hopefully just do an open air so we can get to the pale yellow 10 we're...

So I'm going self employed this month and I was just wondering which colour brand is the best to have?(keep in mind I need to keep it cheapish) at my salon we currently use goldwell which I love but I can't afford to buy, if I can get some suggestions it would be greatly appreciated [emoji4]

Hi everyone,

I'm booking a spray tan course soon but not sure which is best. If I do a generic course can I use brands like sienna x and suntana? Or if I do a branded course would I be able to use a different brand in future?

Hi Everyone,

I am doing an eyelash extension and lash lift course in the near future with a view to do more specialist courses once I am more experienced.

I wanted to work from home but unfortunately the house we currently rent the ground floor is an open plan lounge and kitchen and upstairs is 1 bedroom so there is no facility for me to have a beauty room.

I have asked for a few quotes from salons advertising beauty rooms to rent near me to see what kind of costs to expect.

My question...

Hi all

Yesterday i suffered a miscarriage at 13 weeks!
Im distraught.... This is my second miscarriage in a row and have an op on thursday.
Today decided to let everyone on Facebook/ message know that i would be off for just over a week due to unforeseen circumstances. But will be working from my salon open day (27th feb)


Today ive had a message from the one client who's my ultimate fave
( i colour and do extensions for + her sister ,which equals over £240 worth of work)...

Nxt colour help!

I'm currently using matrix but just found out my Local wholesalers are not going to stock it very soon,
I've been recommended to go over to nxt can anyone recommend it?
Is there anything I should know about this colour? And what would I use as a toner (currently I us matrix sheer pastel toners but can't see that nxt do anything like that?)

I may add I have never used another colour house before so completely out of my comfort zone,

Chrome powder with Gelish

Can anyone please help with chrome powder. All the tutorials I have ever seen say to apply 2 coats of gelish. Remove the tacky layer, apply the chrome powder and then apply 2 coats of top it off. But it's all peeling away after a week of applying it, I assume it's because the top coat can't stick to the smooth surface but does anyone who uses gelish know how to make it work?

Lifting at base of nail?

So a client has told me that her ibd gel polish has started lifting at the base of the nail. I just need some advice as to whether I've not applied properly or if it could be due to her nails being naturally really oily. I do the standard buff, prep,I then applied powerbond, base coat etc what do you guys think?

Hi all
Me .....again!

Ok so im opening a salon yayyy! But i wondered what your takes are on price brackets?

I have recently come from a salon in a working class area of Birmingham charging £60 for foils including a cut & finish +£10 if toned.

I have clients from all walks of life and love that. But its come to my attention im too cheap! Im moving near 3 salons
1st salon ) closest to me charges around the same but are never really busy - established 5+ years.

2nd salon ) charges...

New price list + new salon + new area of the city = headache!

Hi all. Have turned 36 and have decided that I'm going to do a manicure and gel training course with a view to going mobile once I've got the training and practice in. I live in Staffordshire. Thinking of doing gelish but wondering if it's worth me going another range too? Or if it best to stick to one. I was very tempted by CND shellac. Am I better going with another alternative. The training provider I've found is based in Cheadle and would get a level 2. Am I going down the right route...

How much eyelash extension glue to use?

Hi, wonder if anyone could help? I've been doing eyelash extensions for a few months now and i am finding it really hard to make my full sets look "full enough". They look ok when the client is led down however when they sit up they never look full enough, however I am isolating all lashes that I can see. I think my problem is that I may be using too much glue per set and they do look abit clumpy so any extra lashes are getting caught up in all the glue. How much glue do you generally use...

Hi Geeks , just a bit of advice please , have got a new client who has been having a base 9 tint with scattered bleach foils , she is a base 8 with one inch 30% grey and wants a rose gold colour ! My colour house is Loreal any suggestions please ?x
